ITNAmerica has always recognized research as essential to understanding consumer needs and community mobility. In addition to ITNAmerica’s direct work of supporting dignified community transportation, ITNAmerica frequently engages in research studies to help further understanding of the issue.

Because the Rides in Sight database was specifically built to provide helpful information for older adults and people with special mobility needs, and because it includes diverse services to meet those needs, it is an ideal information resource for social researchers studying transportation services for these populations. RIS’s 40 field transportation database offers a wealth of information on transportation providers in the United States. All of RIS’s data are customizable by service region or by fields of interest, enabling RIS to tailor reports to specific projects.
