API

The Rides in Sight database can now be accessed through an application programming interface (API). An API allows any organization to make the RIS database available through their own website to their own customers. For example, the National Council on Aging (NCOA) is soon adding an API to RIS to their Benefits CheckUp website.

Benefits of the API include:

    • Real-time updates

Each API request pulls data from the most recently updated version of the database

    • Customizable features

RIS can customize search results based on an organization’s selected fields of interest. Examples include but are not limited to, displaying only free services, volunteer services, or wheelchair-accessible services

To set up a demo or to learn more about adding the API to your website, please contact ris-api@itnamerica.org.
